About Me:
My name is Ben Wencil. I am blessed to be teaching Criminal Justice 1 and Criminal Justice 2 at Rockvale High School. I look forward to working with students to not only get them excited about the field of Criminal Justice, but to help them gain confidence by applying industry relevant skills to everyday life that will ultimately help them be more successful.
My wife and I have lived in Rutherford County for over 20 years. We also have a son who is attending elementary school in Rutherford County. As a family we enjoy travelling, spend any kind of time outdoors by hiking, swimming, or camping, or any other excuse we can make to go on an adventure and spend time together.
I have experience working with the State of Tennessee involved in juvenile legal/ family cases and have worked for the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department. During my time at the Sheriff’s Department, I served as a Field Training Officer (FTO), was promoted to the rank of Corporal (Cpl.) and was later promoted to the rank of Sergeant (Sgt.) within the Booking Division. I was also involved in the training of new deputies and veteran staff to assist them with navigating the various challenges of the profession and helping them grow into valuable assets for the department.
I look forward to working with students during this exciting time preparing for their future careers.
