2026-2027 Bowling Tryouts

Please contact me at [email protected] if you are interested in trying out for next year's team. There will be one team with boys and girls on the same team. You will need your own transportation to and from matches to be on the team. The fee this year is $150. Bowling shoes and lanes balls will be available if needed.
Final forms must be completed before tryouts. You cannot tryout if you have not completed Final Forms.
All students that are interested in trying out must have a physical to tryout. All bowlers will need a physical and all information uploaded to FinalForms. This also includes your birth certificate. You can find more information on the RVH athletic page:
Information about the Team:
Bowling is an official sanctioned high school sport. You can letter in bowling and can earn scholarships. All information and rules can be found on the TSSAA website. https://tssaasports.com/

Bowlers:
The RVH bowling team follows the non-discrimination policy of Rutherford County Schools. All students are welcome to try out for the team and assistive equipment can be provided. Please contact me if needed.
Summer:
There may be bowling practices over the summer, but bowlers should continue to practice on their own. Call the local bowling alleys for rates and times.
Season:
Matches tentatively will start at the end of September and ends mid-December before winter break. Typically, we will have two matches a week, Tuesday and Thursday but we will practice on Mondays. Matches start at 4 and end around 6. Last year, bowlers were dismissed around 3pm to get to the bowl alley. I am not sure when we will be able to leave this year. I will have more information at tryouts. Half the season is at Strike and Spare and the other half we will play at Smyrna Center (SBC). You must have your own transportation. Coaches are not permitted to assist or arrange transportation.
Practice:
Official practice will begin after tryouts. There is no charge for practice. You must have your own transportation.
Fees and Costs:
2026-2027 fee is $150 for the season.
Help and assistance:
Bowlers need to have their own equipment but can use lane balls and shoes for no charge. Also, if there
is a problem with the fee, please contact me. Coach John knows many people and has many connections.
He can sometimes find equipment at discounted prices.

- Bowlers must maintain good attendance (must be present day of match)
- Bowlers must be in good standing with their teachers and follow school rules
