Hello and welcome to the 23-24 school year at Rockvale High School RTI Reading. This class addresses strengthening reading skills that will help you in your other classes and with your future educational endeavors. We will be using Scholastic Action magazine as our main source for reading skills. We will also address deficits in grammar, vocabulary, and writing. We will be using Easy CBM to test reading comprehension as progress monitoring every other week. This is my 4th year at Rockvale High as an RTI Reading teacher. I have 25 years of experience teaching reading. A little bit about me, I have 2 grown children and 2 grandsons. My hobbies include: walking, reading, traveling, visiting with family and friends, and volunteering to help others. I also have a 50-year-old parrot named Louie and a 5-year-old cat named Millie. You may find it funny that I inherited them both! They definitely keep life at home interesting. Rockvale High is a great school to have the privilege to attend. You will find administration, teachers, and staff willing and ready to help you be successful. All you need is the "want too."
